Terms & Conditions

Effective Date: May 12, 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of AppealTax.com, including any products, reports, assessment appeal packets, documents, content, services, forms, downloads, and related materials provided by AppealTax (“AppealTax,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).

By accessing this website, purchasing a product, submitting information, or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use AppealTax.com.

1. What AppealTax Provides

AppealTax provides property tax assessment appeal support for residential property owners in the United States. Our products and services may include property tax assessment review materials, appeal packets, letter templates, comparable property summaries, filing guidance, deadline information, educational content, and other documents designed to help property owners better understand and challenge a property tax assessment.

AppealTax is intended to help property owners organize information and prepare materials for a potential property tax assessment appeal. We do not represent that any particular taxing authority, assessor, board of review, tribunal, court, or government office will accept, consider, approve, or grant any appeal.

2. United States Residential Properties Only

AppealTax currently provides services only for residential properties located in the United States.

We do not provide services for properties outside the United States. We also do not generally provide services for commercial, industrial, agricultural, mixed-use, special-purpose, tax-exempt, utility, government, or non-residential properties unless we expressly agree in writing before purchase.

3. No Guaranteed Outcome

AppealTax does not guarantee any outcome.

We do not guarantee that your property tax assessment will be reduced. We do not guarantee that your property taxes will be lowered. We do not guarantee that you will receive a refund, credit, exemption, adjustment, hearing, favorable decision, or any other result.

Property tax appeal outcomes depend on many factors outside our control, including local laws, deadlines, assessment methods, evidence, comparable sales, property condition, assessor discretion, board or tribunal decisions, government procedures, and the facts of your specific property.

4. No Legal, Tax, or Financial Advice

AppealTax is not a law firm, accounting firm, appraisal firm, or tax advisory firm. Information provided through AppealTax.com is for general informational and document-preparation purposes only.

Nothing on this website or in our materials should be considered legal advice, tax advice, financial advice, appraisal advice, or a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney, CPA, tax professional, appraiser, or other qualified professional.

If you need legal, tax, appraisal, or financial advice, you should consult an appropriate licensed professional in your jurisdiction.

5. Customer Responsibility

You are responsible for reviewing, verifying, signing, mailing, filing, submitting, and following up on any property tax appeal materials unless we expressly agree otherwise in writing.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and complete property information
  • Confirming your property address, parcel number, owner information, assessment amount, and tax year
  • Checking all local filing deadlines
  • Confirming the correct assessor, board, tribunal, or government office
  • Submitting documents on time
  • Attending any required hearing or meeting
  • Responding to requests from government offices
  • Keeping copies of all submitted documents

AppealTax is not responsible for missed deadlines, incomplete filings, incorrect information provided by you, postal delays, government processing delays, rejected filings, or failure to follow local appeal procedures.

6. Accuracy of Information

You agree to provide truthful, accurate, current, and complete information when using AppealTax.com or purchasing our products or services.

AppealTax may rely on the information you provide, publicly available property records, government websites, assessment notices, tax bills, comparable sales data, and third-party sources. We do not guarantee that public records, government databases, sales data, or third-party information are accurate, complete, current, or error-free.

You are responsible for reviewing all final documents before filing or mailing them.

7. Deadlines and Local Rules

Property tax assessment appeal deadlines and procedures vary by state, county, city, township, municipality, assessor, board of review, tax tribunal, and other local taxing authorities.

AppealTax may provide deadline information and general filing guidance, but you are responsible for confirming the current deadline and filing requirements with your local assessor or applicable government office.

Deadlines may change, fall on weekends or holidays, or depend on the date of an assessment notice, valuation notice, tax bill, reassessment, reassessment cycle, or other local event.

8. All Sales Are Final

All sales are final.

Because AppealTax products and services may involve digital content, customized documents, property-specific research, report preparation, document review, and time-sensitive work, purchases are non-refundable except as expressly stated in these Terms or required by law.

Once an order is placed, we may begin reviewing information, preparing materials, processing documents, or allocating resources to your order. For that reason, we do not offer refunds simply because you changed your mind, missed a deadline, chose not to file, filed incorrectly, disagreed with the result, or did not receive the outcome you hoped for.

9. Discretionary Refunds

AppealTax may, in our sole discretion, refund your payment if we determine that an appeal appears highly unlikely to be appropriate, practical, timely, or potentially beneficial based on the information available to us.

Examples may include, but are not limited to:

  • The appeal deadline appears to have already passed
  • The property appears to be assessed at or below a reasonable market value
  • Comparable sales appear to support the existing assessment
  • The property is outside our service area
  • The property is not residential
  • The order appears to require legal, appraisal, or professional services we do not provide
  • Required information is missing or cannot be reasonably obtained
  • We determine that we cannot reasonably provide useful materials for the property

A discretionary refund does not mean AppealTax made any legal, appraisal, tax, or professional determination. It simply means we chose not to proceed with the order.

AppealTax is not obligated to provide a refund unless we expressly approve one or unless required by law.

10. Digital Products and Custom Materials

Some AppealTax products may be delivered digitally, including downloadable reports, PDF files, Word documents, email attachments, templates, appeal letters, or online account materials.

Some products may be customized for a specific property, owner, county, state, or assessment issue. Custom materials are prepared based on available information and are not returnable.

You may use the purchased materials for your own personal property tax assessment appeal. You may not resell, redistribute, publish, copy, sublicense, or commercially exploit AppealTax materials without written permission.

11. Mailing, Printing, and Filing

If a product is designed to be printed, signed, and mailed, you are responsible for printing, signing, mailing, filing, and confirming receipt unless AppealTax expressly states otherwise in writing.

If AppealTax offers mailing, printing, or submission assistance, any such service may be subject to additional terms, fees, deadlines, and limitations.

AppealTax is not responsible for postal delays, lost mail, rejected mail, government intake delays, incorrect addresses, unsigned forms, missing attachments, or failure to confirm receipt with the appropriate office.

12. No Attorney-Client Relationship

Use of AppealTax.com does not create an attorney-client relationship, accountant-client relationship, appraiser-client relationship, fiduciary relationship, or professional advisory relationship.

Communications with AppealTax are not privileged legal communications. Do not submit information to AppealTax that you consider legally privileged unless you have first consulted with an attorney.

13. No Government Affiliation

AppealTax is a private service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by any county assessor, tax collector, treasurer, board of review, tax tribunal, government agency, municipality, state, or federal agency.

Government forms, deadlines, rules, and procedures are controlled by the applicable government office, not AppealTax.

14. Third-Party Websites and Data

AppealTax.com may link to third-party websites, including county assessor websites, treasurer websites, tax collectors, property record databases, GIS systems, real estate data providers, payment processors, and other external resources.

We are not responsible for third-party websites, data, availability, accuracy, content, policies, fees, or security practices.

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

  • Use our materials for properties you do not own or are not authorized to act on
  • Violate any law, regulation, court order, or government rule

We may refuse service, cancel orders, restrict access, or terminate accounts if we believe these Terms have been violated.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AppealTax and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, vendors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including lost savings, lost refunds, increased taxes, missed deadlines, rejected appeals, loss of data, loss of business, or loss of opportunity.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AppealTax’s total liability for any claim related to your use of the website, products, or services will not exceed the amount you paid to AppealTax for the product or service giving rise to the claim.

20. Disclaimer of Warranties

AppealTax.com and all products, services, materials, and content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, availability, and uninterrupted service.

21. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AppealTax and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, vendors, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to:

  • Your purchase or use of our products or services
  • Your submitted property information or documents
  • Your filing, mailing, or submission of appeal materials
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any law or third-party rights

22. Refusal or Cancellation of Service

We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or limit any order or service request for any reason, including suspected fraud, inaccurate information, missed deadlines, non-residential property, property outside the United States, abusive conduct, unavailable data, or a determination that we cannot reasonably assist with the property.

If we cancel an order before beginning work, we may issue a refund. If work has already begun, any refund is at our discretion unless required by law.

23. Changes to Products or Services

We may change, modify, suspend, or discontinue any product, service, feature, price, or website content at any time without notice.

We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of any product, service, or website feature.

24. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless another jurisdiction is required by applicable law.

You agree that any dispute related to AppealTax.com, our products, or these Terms will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Michigan, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

25. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we update them, we will revise the effective date above. Your continued use of AppealTax.com after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
